Tanzanite moves between blue and violet depending on how it is turned, and building it into wings puts that behavior to work: the two marquise cuts on the upper wings tilt one way, the two pears below tilt the other, so neither butterfly shows a single flat color for long. Four stones make a butterfly, eight across the pair. A beaded white metal border traces each wing outline, a polished bead forms the body where the four stones meet, and two fine antennae curl upward toward the fitting.
At 29 by 10 millimeters the shape reads as a detail rather than a declaration, and rhodium plated sterling silver keeps the outline sharp without adding bulk. Lever backs hold each butterfly facing forward instead of letting it turn edge on.
