Nine oval tanzanites make up each rosette: one laid flat at the middle with eight more radiating around it like the spokes of a wheel, all set on the same plane so the face stays flat rather than domed. Small round white topazes drop into the notches where the outer ovals meet, filling the scalloped rim and squaring the outline into a circle.
Tanzanite carries both blue and violet at once, and across eighteen stones cut in different orientations you see the two tones shift against each other as the earring swings. They hang from lever backs at 26 by 15 millimeters, close enough to the lobe to read as a cluster rather than a drop.
