Four pear cut tanzanites turn around a small silver bead at the middle like the blades of a pinwheel, and two rings of round stones step outward from them, the inner ring set close and the outer one spaced so the edge of the cluster scallops into points. The stones are not all of a size: those four pears run several times the width of the rounds at the rim, which is what gives the head a center instead of an even field.
Tanzanite shifts between blue and violet with the angle of the light, and a group set at this many angles shows that shift more readily than one stone can, since no two faces catch the same light at once. Prong set throughout in rhodium plated silver on a plain tapering shank, size 7.
