The marquise does the work on this one. A 2.05 carat tanzanite lies lengthwise across the finger, pinned at both points by yellow gold V-prongs, and a single row of diamonds traces the pointed outline the whole way around in bright white metal. The diamonds do not stop at the halo either: they carry on down both shoulders in a narrow pavé line before the shank returns to plain polished yellow gold.
Drawing the outline out this far makes the ring read considerably longer on the hand than two carats would suggest, and the warm metal underneath pulls the violet side of the color forward where a white setting would hold it cool. Thirty-eight diamonds in total, 0.26 carats. Ring size 7 US.
