A marquise-cut tanzanite runs the length of this cocktail ring, its two long points giving the violet-blue stone a reach across the finger. Thirty-eight round diamonds form a halo that follows the marquise outline, set in 14K yellow gold that warms the whole. The pointed cut makes the most of a two-carat stone, reading longer than its weight. This marquise was set once, and there is no other.
