The heart here is the shape of the ring itself, not the cut of a stone. A domed heart shaped face is covered edge to edge in small tanzanites, mixed ovals and rounds in no fixed pattern, each held by shared silver beads so the stones sit almost touching. Their tones run from pale lilac to a saturated blue violet, and because the face is domed the color shifts as the hand turns, lighter along the crown and deeper down the sides.
A plain polished silver rim outlines the heart and separates it cleanly from the tapered shank, which is left undecorated. Nearly four carats spread over dozens of small stones gives the piece its width without much height, so it lies flatter on the finger than its size suggests.
