A pear cut tanzanite sits point down inside an open frame shaped like a pointed lantern, its two outer edges traced in pavé diamonds that draw together at a tip below the stone. A short inner line of diamonds runs down the crown of the frame as well, and the frame itself stands clear of the tanzanite so daylight passes behind the stone rather than stopping at metal. Thirty-four diamonds, 0.28 carats.
Above the frame the bail is a plain open heart in polished white gold with no stones on it at all, which keeps every diamond concentrated around the tanzanite. The drop runs 27 mm long by 14 mm across and hangs on a 16 inch white gold chain, and at 3.01 carats the violet-blue holds its depth right down to the point.
