The drop is a pear cut tanzanite of 3.04 carats, broad through the shoulders and tapering to a fine point at the top, holding blue and violet that trade places as the stone swings. Thirty round diamonds follow the pear outline in a single halo set in bright white metal, drawing a clean line between the color and the warm yellow gold of the bail and claws.
Three claws do the work, one at the point and two at the base, so the crown of the tanzanite is left almost entirely open and the light reaches it from the front. At 23.5 by 12 millimeters the pendant hangs small and precise, sitting just below the collarbone rather than filling the neckline, and the rounded bail is scaled for a fine chain.
