Roughly fourteen pear cut tanzanites are laid across a domed round face, each turned a different way so the points interlock and the surface reads as a mosaic rather than a repeating pattern. Warm yellow metal shows between them at every prong, and the play between that warmth and the violet blue is what the ring trades on.
Openwork scrolls are cut through both shoulders, lightening a shank that is otherwise wide and heavy. The 1.8 carats is divided among all those small pears, which is why the face spreads this broadly while still sitting close to the finger.
