A pear cut tanzanite of 3.05 carats leads this ring, held by one yellow gold claw at its point and two more at the wide base. Around it run two full rows of pavé diamonds, an inner circuit tight against the stone and an outer one beyond it, divided by a milgrained ridge of white gold, and the pavé carries on down both shoulders in twin lines before the shank turns plain gold underneath.
That double halo pushes the outline a long way past the stone itself, so the ring reads considerably larger on the hand than three carats would account for. Yellow gold shows only at the claws and along the underside of the band; everything the eye meets from above is white, which holds the violet-blue cool instead of warming it. Ring size 7 US.
