Two colors of metal share this ring. The oval tanzanite is gripped by paired yellow gold prongs at the top and bottom of the stone, while every diamond around it is set in white metal: a curved pavé panel climbs each side of the oval, and below that the shank splits into two pavé rows divided by a polished yellow gold rail.
Nothing sits above or below the stone, so the long axis of the oval stays open and the blue-violet runs uninterrupted from end to end. Forty-two diamonds do the framing and none of them is large, which leaves the 3.76 carat center firmly in charge.
