The tanzanite is cut as a marquise, a long pointed oval that lies lengthwise along the finger and shifts between blue and violet as the hand turns. A single row of round diamonds follows that outline from point to point, and each shoulder carries two rows of pavé that narrow as they reach the shank.
Five carats in a marquise spreads its weight along the length of the stone rather than piling it into a compact face, so the ring covers a good stretch of the finger. The 14K white gold stays quiet behind the color, and the pavé keeps a bright line running out to either side.
