This is the oval cluster in its plainest form. A 5.34 carat tanzanite is held at intervals by fine claws, and nineteen round diamonds sit around it in a single ring, each one in its own claws rather than run together as pave, with visible metal left between them. Nineteen larger stones instead of a hundred tiny ones changes what the halo does: it reads as separate points of light around a solid block of violet-blue rather than a continuous glitter.
The shank is wide, plain and highly polished, tapering a little as it rises into the head, and carries no stones on the shoulders. The cluster therefore stands proud on the finger as one raised oval with nothing leading into it. Sized 7 US.
