A cushion cut tanzanite of 2.02 carats takes four claws at the center, its crown worked in a fine checkerboard that breaks the violet-blue into small squares of light rather than a few broad flashes. Twenty-four diamonds ring it in a single row following the cushion outline, 0.24 carats between them, scaled so the halo stays a bright edge and never becomes a second layer of bulk.
The shank is plain polished white gold and opens into a small window at each shoulder where it meets the head, lifting the setting off the finger so a piece this wide across the top does not sit heavy. Ring size 7 US.
