The frame around this tanzanite is a knot, not a plain halo. Three curved ribbons of diamond pavé cross over one another around the center stone in a pinwheel, each ribbon passing above one neighbor and below the next, so the head has depth to it and catches light at several different angles at once.
A round tanzanite sits at the middle on four claws, a clear cornflower blue with the violet cast the species is known for showing as the hand moves. Thirty diamonds fill the ribbons and carry a short distance down each shoulder before the 14K white gold band drops to a plain, slim shank. It is a size 7 and the head is compact enough to sit flat between the fingers.
