An oval tanzanite is held in four prongs and ringed by a scalloped halo of about sixteen small round diamonds that follow the outline of the center stone. Tanzanite of this color moves between blue and a softer violet as the hand turns, and the bright frame pushes that shift forward.
The diamonds continue down both shoulders, roughly five to a side, bead set into a shank that splits and scallops as it rises to meet the head. Total weight across the ring is 0.76 carats, so the piece is built from one modest oval and a great many small stones; on the hand it reads as a compact halo cluster rather than a solitaire.
