The oval tanzanite here is held in a smooth white gold bezel rather than prongs, a closed rim that runs right around the stone and leaves the violet-blue uninterrupted across its face. Beyond the bezel the setting opens into a double halo, two concentric rounds of pave diamonds divided by a fine milgrain edge, and the shank splits at the shoulders so the pave continues down both sides.
Forty-two diamonds do that work across the halos and the split shank. The ring reads considerably wider than its center stone because of them, yet it sits low on the hand, the bezel keeping the profile close to the finger. Sized 7 US.
