A round cut tanzanite of 3.64 carats sits under four yellow gold claws, and the halo around it is deliberately broken. Seven round diamonds arc across the top of the stone and seven more arc beneath it, while the two sides are left open for the shank to run straight in. Into those openings go tapered baguettes, channel set flush along each shoulder, three to a side.
That is twenty diamonds in two cuts and two settings, 0.54 carats between them, and the mix is why the diamond work reads bigger than the count: prong set rounds throw light in points while the baguettes return it in long flat panels. The band itself is wide, flat and polished yellow gold, which warms the violet-blue noticeably. Ring size 7 US.
