An oval tanzanite is held in four rounded claws above a pair of channels, each shoulder carrying five straight baguette white topaz laid crosswise and secured by the metal walls rather than by prongs. The baguettes narrow as the shoulder tapers, which pulls the eye along the shank toward the center stone.
Channel set work of this kind reads as a solid white bar from a short distance, broken in the middle by the violet blue oval. The shoulders are broad and flat where they meet the finger, so the ring sits squared rather than round. Total weight is 2.1 carats.
