Fifty three oval tanzanites run in one unbroken line here, set east west in four claw heads that link directly into each other with no metal showing between stones. The violet blue is strong and holds around the whole curve, leaning blue on the stones facing the light and purple on those turned away from it, which is the behavior that distinguishes the species.
Ten carats across fifty three ovals averages under a fifth of a carat each, and that is what lets an 18 inch line stay this fine and still lie flat at the base of the throat. The setting is plain sterling silver with no plating over it, closing with a lobster claw.
