The design is a wheel. An oval turquoise cabochon fills the hub and spokes of small diamonds radiate out from it to a diamond set rim, leaving open windows between them. Eight tourmalines are dropped into those windows, two each of pink, green, blue, and orange brown, so the colors repeat around the circle in opposing pairs.
The turquoise returns light evenly across its dome, opaque and matte beside all that faceted brightness, which is what keeps a busy ring legible. Weights run 2.62 carats of turquoise, 0.76 carats of diamond, and 0.68 carats in each of the four tourmaline colors, on sterling silver at size 7 US. The openwork keeps it lighter on the hand than its width would suggest.
