Both stones are square princess cuts, each held in four rounded claw prongs that grip the corners and leave the edges clean. The yellow is strong rather than pale, carrying right across the table, and against 14K yellow gold the stone and the metal sit in the same register, so each stud reads as one block of warm color at the lobe instead of a contrast between setting and stone.
At 4 by 4 millimeters they stay compact and close to the ear. The crossed facet pattern of a princess cut returns light in short bright flashes rather than the wide scatter of a round.
