Each drop is an open gold teardrop with an oval emerald set inside the curve, so the green sits in a window of pierced metal instead of against a solid back. Small round diamonds trace the teardrop outline around the stone, thirteen to an earring and twenty six across the pair, with one held apart at the link above the drop.
A slim marquise shaped bar joins post to drop, which gives the earring its 22 millimeters of length and lets the teardrop swing clear of the lobe. Turned over, the reverse is worked as thoroughly as the front, scrolled openwork and beaded detail cut through the gold. Warm yellow metal and green sit in the same register, so the pair reads as color first and detail second.
