The top of each earring is a small inverted pear, pave set with a dozen diamonds in white metal, and from it a plain gold jump ring carries the drop. That hinge is the point of the design: the stone swings free of the post rather than sitting rigid against the lobe.
Below hangs a pear cut emerald held by three claws, one at the crown and two gripping the point, so the pavilion stays open and the green runs right through the stone. The two emeralds come to 2.20 carats together against 0.10 carats of diamond above them, an imbalance that keeps the color the subject. At 17 millimeters long and 7 wide the pair reads as a slim vertical line at the ear.
