An oval emerald of 0.70 carats held in yellow gold claws, set inside a halo that is not oval but octagonal, a rectangle with clipped corners drawn in pave diamonds. Putting a curved stone inside a straight edged frame is the whole design: the corners of the halo read as empty and the emerald looks rounder and more separate than it would in a matched outline. It is a small pendant at 17 by 8 millimeters, with 0.10 carats of diamond in the frame and a plain yellow gold bail above.
