A matched pair of oval emeralds, one to each ear, held in four prong ten karat yellow gold baskets. At seven by five millimetres each they are large enough to register as green from across a room without tipping into statement territory. The gold prongs warm the stones; against white metal the same emeralds would read cooler and greyer. Nothing else is going on here, which is the appeal of a stud.
