Each earring starts with a pear shaped plaque of small white diamonds inside a gold rim, and from a jump ring below it hangs a pear cut emerald in three yellow gold claws. No diamonds run alongside the emeralds; the twenty-four accents sit entirely in the two tops, which leaves each green teardrop clean edged and unbroken.
The emeralds read a soft spring green, lighter through the center of each pear and deeper toward the rim, and they return a diffuse glow rather than sharp flashes. Eighteen millimeters long by seven across, 2.18 carats for the pair, with the widest part of each stone at the bottom so the weight hangs low and swings.
