A marquise cut sapphire of just over two carats, dark blue and pointed at both ends, ringed by a single row of round diamonds that follows the shape exactly rather than rounding it off. The bail carries diamonds too, so the line of small stones runs unbroken from the chain into the frame.
Ten karat white gold keeps the metal cool and out of the way of the blue. At 24 by 10 millimeters the pendant is narrow and vertical, which is what the marquise outline wants.
