Better than ten carats in a single trillion cut blue topaz, faceted across the crown in a checkerboard pattern and set inside an ornate scrolled frame. Small white zircons are worked into the scrollwork at intervals around the outside, and the frame is pierced throughout, so the topaz sits over open metal rather than a solid plate. The three sided outline of the stone against a rounded frame is the tension the whole design is built on.
