An oval blue zircon sits in a plain four prong basket at each ear with nothing else in the setting to argue with it. Zircon gives back a hard, glassy brightness and a flicker of dispersion that separates its blue from the flatter blue of topaz, and these two are cut shallow enough across the crown to show it.
Each stone measures 7 by 5 millimeters and the pair carries 2.38 carats between them, just under 1.20 carats apiece, which is the sort of weight zircon reaches at a modest footprint. Sterling silver keeps the metal out of the picture, so the studs read as two clear blue points at the lobe.
