Look closely and the line is not one stone per link. Each station is a tight cluster of small round diamonds gathered into a low domed head, and the clusters are joined by S curved bars of white metal that let the bracelet flex as it follows the wrist.
Worked this way, 1.78 carats covers far more surface than the same weight would in individual stones, and on the arm the effect is a broken, glittering ribbon rather than a row of separate points. The metal stays bright and narrow throughout, and at 7.25 inches the bracelet settles just below the wrist bone.
