A cushion cut pink amethyst fills the whole face of this ring, its broad table and stepped crown facets breaking the pale rose into lilac and near colorless flashes as the hand turns. Four rounded ball prongs, one at each corner, lift the 5.18 carat stone clear of the shoulders so light reaches it from the sides as well as the top.
The shoulders climb toward it in banks of small round rhodolite garnets, staggered across two offset rows on each side rather than laid in a single file, so the red steps outward and frames the amethyst on both flanks. Those garnets add up to 0.68 carats. The plating reads distinctly rose rather than yellow, which narrows the distance between the warm metal and the cool pink of the center stone. It is sized 8 US and sits wide across the finger.
