The centre is a square step cut ruby of 5.78 carats, deep and even in colour, held on four claws. Around it runs a full halo of small round white topaz, set in a squared outline that follows the corners of the stone rather than rounding them off, which keeps the geometry crisp.
The halo steps down to plain polished sterling silver shoulders that taper into the band, so nothing competes with the centre. At 5.78 carats the ruby covers a good part of the finger and sits fairly high. Ring size 8 US.
