A marquise cut Swiss blue topaz lies north to south along the finger, gripped at its two points by V shaped claws so the long edges of the stone are left completely open. A small cluster of round white topaz gathers at each shoulder, colorless and bright where the shank climbs into the head.
The marquise outline pulls the eye lengthwise, which makes the ring cover more of the finger than a 3.64 carat center would otherwise suggest, and the open setting lets light through the stone from the sides. Sterling silver keeps everything cool around the blue, with a plain narrow shank running to size 6 US.
